Stuttgart went in front against Union Berlin. However, their joy was short lived because the referee disallowed the goal after a VAR on-field review. It was disallowed becasue Nico Gonzalez was offside and interfering with the goalkeeper in Aogo's goal. Minutes before, the away fans had shown their disgust with VAR.

Stuttgart needed a goal to go ahead in a tie which could mean Bundesliga relegation. And they got it after nine minutes thanks to a good free-kick by Aogo.

From the edge of the area, the Stuttgart player hit it with his left foot to the side of the goalkeeper, Rafal Gilkiewicz. The Union Berlin goalkeeper could not see the ball well because of Nico Rodriguez.

And the Argentinian striker put himself between the wall and the goalkeeper to obstruct his view. He got the desired effect because Gikiewicz could not do anything to save the shot.

After a short period of uncertainty, the referee went over to the pitchside monitor to see if Nico Gonzalez had interfered with play. Shortly afterwards, the goal was disallowed and the score returned to 0-0.
