Another big night... Or a failure to deliver?

Andalusian goalkeeper Adrian San Miguel went from training at Albero to playing at Anfield with the reigning Champions League winners. He became the hero during Liverpool's Supercup win, but also has had some difficult days. Alisson's injury opens the door to a great night again.

Adrian San Miguel is a humble goalkeeper with a well-defined routine. At West Ham, he became one of the heavyweights until his contract ended and he waited for a golden opportunity that came his way without waiting too long.

Liverpool called him up and an injury to Alisson made him the hero of the Super Cup, leading the team to the title. However, consistency is what the Spanish goalkeeper sometimes lacks.

Since then he has had all sorts of moments, from one of the best saves in the Champions League to his last appearance against Chelsea in the FA Cup, in which he failed to save Chelsea's opener.

Now, the next week could prove key for the Spaniard. Klopp will once again rely on San Miguel due to Alisson's injury to fight his way through the play-offs against Atletico Madrid at Anfield. He will have Liverpool's clash against Bournemouth as his first test, where his performance can be nothing but perfect.

Anything but a clean sheet from the Spaniard will be considered a bad result, as a goal from Atletico would put the reigning European champions on the back foot.
