Turkish club Ankaragucu president Faruk Koca went onto the pitch to punch referee Halil Umut Meler during his team's match against Rizespor on Monday.

Ankaragucu were not at all happy with Halil Umut Meler's refereeing in the Rizespor match. Or at least their president, Faruk Koca, who assaulted the referee.

The incidents occurred after the match had finished with the score at 1-1. Koca went down to the pitch and punched the referee. The referee fell straight to the ground, knocked out after being hit in the face. As soon as he got up, his left eye was visibly affected.

The Rizespor players had to form a wall to allow the referee to reach the tunnel once he had recovered. Before that, however, some Ankaragucu players kicked him while he was on the ground.
