Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti was asked at the pre-match press conference ahead of the Chelsea game about what Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez said about the time his side played Getafe on Sunday and said that "you have to be ready to play" when the schedule says so.
Xavi said after the match against the Madrid side, which ended in a goalless draw, that his team were disadvantaged by the state of the pitch at the Getafe stadium and the time the match was played, with plenty of sunshine, because his players are more accustomed to playing at night.
Ancelotti, when aked about the matter, stressed that today's football schedule demands "playing at different times" and "you always have to be prepared".
"For us, the important thing is to play football. I think, honestly, there are teams more used to playing in the afternoon than in the evening, but there is a schedule that requires you to play at different times and you always have to be prepared," the Italian coach replied.
