In the press conference to present new Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, the Italian promised "intense and spectacular" football to be "able to repeat the success of the past."

Carlo Ancelotti was presented as the new Real Madrid coach this Wednesday in a press conference. Just like in his first spell, he promised "attacking, spectacular and intense" football to win trophies.

"Thank you very much to Real Madrid, the president (Florentino Perez), Jose Angel (Sanchez, director general) and to all the board. I'm very happy to return to what was my home and I'm going to put all my energy into trying to repeat everything we did in the past," he said.

"I have very good memories of the two years I spent here, the titles, the relationship I had with everyone. We're going to repeat that in this new challenge," he said in his first appearance in front of the press in his second spell as Real Madrid boss. This comes after penning a three year deal at the club.

Ancelotti promised attractive football as the best way to get success: "I promise the same because tradition, this club's history, is to try and play attacking, spectacular and intense football."

"I think football has changed a lot in these five years, it's more intense and aggressive. Rules have been changed, but Real Madrid's football has to be attacking and spectacular as fans want," he stressed.
