Manchester United and Brazil international Casemiro spoke in the press room about the possible arrival of Carlo Ancelotti to the 'Selecao' bench. The midfielder asked for respect towards Real Madrid, the club with whom the Italian has a contract until 2024.

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro asked on Friday to put to rest speculation about Carlo Ancelotti's possible arrival on the Brazil bench out of respect for the Italian coach and his club Real Madrid.

"He is a coach I know very well, a friend and it was a pleasure to work with him, but Ancelotti has a club and we have to respect the club he is at and respect Ancelotti," Casemiro said at the press conference ahead of the friendly against Morocco in Tangiers on Saturday.

However, he did not miss the opportunity to praise the career of his former coach at Real Madrid, as "he has won everything" and has "a lot of experience".

"Without a doubt, Ancelotti is a great coach," he said. According to the local press, Ancelotti is the main candidate of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) to take over the reins of the 'Selecao', currently coached on an interim basis by Ramon Menezes, coach of the U20 team, as of June.

Casemiro stressed that Menezes is Brazil's coach and that the dressing room is treating him as if he is going to coach the next World Cup, without thinking that he is temporarily in charge. "We know that life is about opportunities. He is not the official coach, but if he does a great job and the candidates that the president (of the CBF) wants don't accept, Ramon is there," said the former 'merengue' player.
