Alvaro Gonzalez had remained silent, but he finally gave a press conference. The Marseille centre-back was obviously asked about the controversy with Neymar and the Spaniard refused to talk about it.

Marseille central defender Alvaro Gonzalez was involved in a major controversy with Neymar during the game between PSG and Marseille at the end of September. The fight between them led to allegations of racism from the Brazilian and the story has rumbled on for weeks.

Neymar had claimed Alvaro had racially abused him while Marseille's Hiroki Sakai claimed he was insulted by Neymar, However, neither of Alvaro and Neymar were punished due to a lack of evidence.

A month since that incident, Alvaro broke his silence. The defender faced the media and he was asked about the controversy. However, he refused to comment futher on it.

"I spoke a lot about that, I replied to all the possible questions. Everything ended, I need to talk about football. The most important thing is Marseille. I don't want to talk about Neymar and PSG, I only want to speak about Lorient and the Champions League," he concluded.
