The 16 teams who have made it this far in the Europa League will find out their destinies on Friday, as the round of 16 draw takes place at 13:00 CET at UEFA's headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

The Europa League round of 32 came to a close on Thursday night, with a thrilling encounter at the Emirates one of the highlights of the night. This means that just 16 teams remain in contention for the trophy, and on Friday they will discover which team awaits them in the next round of fixtures.

It will be a typical draw from a pot, without restrictions or seeding. The one caveat is that teams from Russia and the Ukraine cannot face each other, due to recent troubles between the two countries.

The 16 team-names will be put into the same pot, and the balls will be drawn one by one to determine who faces who. The first team to be drawn will play at home in the first leg, with the subsequent team drawn being their opponents.

The dates of the next round of fixtures have been set for the 8th of March (first leg) and the 15th of March (return leg). As usual, the games will be played at 19:00 and 21:05 (CET), although we will have to wait until after the draw for final confirmation of these times and dates.

The 16 teams in the mix are as follows: AC Milan, Athletic Bilbao, Atletico Madrid, Arsenal FC, Borussia Dortmund, CSKA Moscow, Dynamo Kiev, Lazio, Lokomotiv Moscow, Olympique Lyonnais, Olympique de Marseille, RB Leipzig, RB Salzburg, Sporting Lisbon, Viktoria Plzen and Zenit.
