When having a great game, Ousmane Dembele had to be asked to be subbed after getting injured in a race with Arnau Martinez. The Frenchman went off with a thigh problem.

It is an unexpected setback for Barcelona. After 25 minutes, Dembele had to ask to be taken off after getting injured in a race down the wing with Girona defendre Arnau Martinez.

The Frenchman felt a sharp pain and raised his hand in signal that something was not right. He had never got injured under Xavi, and to make things worse, it has happened when he was going through his best spell.

Ousmane quickly got to the bench and made way for Pedri, who the manager had given a rest to. He had barely enough time to warm up.

Straight after Dembele got there, Xavi was asking about what had happened and the medics undertook a first examination. The Frenchman has a problem in his left thigh, but is waiting for more tests.
