Real Madrid presented David Alaba and in one of his first images as a Real Madrid player, the Austrian posed with his new shirt, the number 4, which was Sergio Ramos' until his contract expired.

Alaba has now begun a new and special period of his professional career. Real Madrid will be his new club for the next five seasons.

The former Bayern Munich player, who made 431 appearances for the Germans, will wear the number 4 shirt. There were no doubts over what number he would wear after Sergio Ramos' departure.

"I'm very grateful to be able to be here today, very proud, and I'm keen to put on the shirt to start fighting for titles. ¡Hala Madrid!," Alaba said in his first comments as a Real Madrid player. He also said that in Spanish before switching to English.

Proof that Alaaba is not afraid of anything ahead of his first experience in Spanish football. He takes over from Ramos, who left his mark on the club after 16 seasons in the Spanish capital.

Alaba will be the leader of the Madrid defence because of his value, quality and experience at the top level. He has won 10 Bundesligas, two Champions Leagues, two UEFA Super Cups, six German Cups, as many German Super Cups and two Club World Cups.
