Real Madrid, after winning La Liga on Saturday, returned to training on Sunday to prepare for the Champions League clash against Manchester City, for which David Alaba remains a doubt.

The Real Madrid squad returned to training on Sunday. After celebrating the league title win on Saturday and the party at the Santiago Bernabeu and the Cibeles fountain, the team are looking to set their minds on the Champions League semi-final against Manchester City. Alaba has little chance of making the game.

After the celebrations and with the hangover of the party experienced with their supporters on Saturday night, the Real Madrid squad trained an hour later than usual, from 12.00. The trainin has been in a gentle morning's work with Carlo Ancelotti's aim of putting the focus on a new attempt at a European comeback.

The Italian coach's focus is on Austrian David Alaba's chances of recovering, which are dwindling with each passing day. He is still unable to train on the pitch and on Sunday he did recovery work indoors after relapsing from his muscle injury at the Etihad.

He is a serious doubt for Wednesday's match at the Bernabeu. It will not be until the last minute when Ancelotti, in conversation with the player to find out how he feels on Tuesday, plus the medical staff, will make a final decision.

Also confirmed absentees for the European semi-final second leg are Belgium's Eden Hazard, who is continuing his recovery work, and Welshman Gareth Bale due to an injury that was confirmed on Sunday in his back. Meanwhile, Luka Jovic remains on the fringes of the squad and trained inside the Spaniards' facilities.

The rest of the Madrid squad, available for Ancelotti, loosened up their legs with a series of runs on the pitch and, according to the club's website, carried out various exercises in a circuit before a series of shots on goal. It was the first contact with the team, and from Monday, at 11.00 am, the intensity will increase in preparation for a game in which the first team will be rested after the rotations made against Espanyol.
