N'Golo Kante seems set to leave Chelsea in June and Barcelona are looking more and more likely to get the Frenchman. However, Al Nassr, who have recently signed Cristiano Ronaldo, have reportedly offered the Frenchman an insane amount of money to join them when his Chelsea contract expires.
One of the footballers Barcelona are following closely is N'Golo Kante. The defensive midfielder is one of those in the best position to replace a Sergio Busquets whose contract expires in June 2023. It seems very likely that he will leave the La Liga outfit on a free.
Just like the Spaniard, the Chelsea midfielder's contract also expires at the end of the season. Despite attempts from the Londoners to renew the 2018 World Cup winner, it seems like the player will depart.
Together with Ruben Neves and Martin Zubimendi, the former Leicester man could well move to the Camp Nou. However, the 31 year-old reportedly has an offer on the table from Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo's new club.
According to 'Sport', the Saudi outfit are willing to offer an astronomical salary and the footballer is reportedly thinking about it. However, Barca are remaining calm given that Kante's intention is to stay in Europe and he is attracted to Xavi's project.
The move to Barca was on track, but not completed. Barca have not rush to check on the player's health. It is worth remembering that Kante has not played this season and missed the World Cup through injury. The Frenchman should be back in action in January.
However, his return could be delayed until February, something which would make the deal more complicated. That is because nothing will be signed until the footballer is fully fit. The Saudi offer could make Kante doubt whether he wants to keep on playing top level football in Europe.
