After Sule's refusal, Barca bid for Ginter
Barcelona saw Niklas Sule choose Borussia Dortmund over the Catalan giants. Willing to sign on the cheap, or at zero cost, the target has turned to Matthias Ginter.
Barcelona are trying to shore up next season's squad with low-cost signings. This is the intention of the Catalan club, which intends to leave all the money for Erling Haaland.
The big target was Niklas Sule, a centre-back whose contract with Bayern Munich expires at the end of the current season. However, the defender has already been linked with Borussia Dortmund.
Barcelona have therefore had to change their target, although they are still looking at the Bundesliga. 'Bild' indicated that 'can Barca's' chosen player is Borussia Mönchengladbach's Matthias Ginter.
Ginter has already made it clear that he will not renew his contract with 'Gladbach and will be free to leave after 1st July. That is why Barcelona have put his name on the agenda.
But Ginter is not the only player Barcelona are looking to reinforce their defence, with the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen also on their radar.
