AC Milan trust Pioli: he will remain in charge for 2021-22
Stefano Pioli has earned the trust of the AC Milan board. They will keep him in charge of the side for next season as well. That is according to the Italian press.
AC Milan will keep their coach. Stefano Pioli will remain the Milan boss for another season despite some poor results recently.
They are 5th in Serie A with 66 points, the same number as Juventus and Napoli who are in the Champions League spots. Milan were eliminated from the Europa League after losing to Man Utd in the last 16 and so they can now focus on qualifying again for next season.
The Milan board still trust the 55 year-old coach, whose contract expires this summer. That means Pioli will have to sign a new contract, but it seems like he will be very happy to do so.
After moving to Milan 2019, 'Tuttosport' now says that Pioli is guaranteed to remain in charge of the club after winning over the board.
