Jupp Heynckes is expected to bring the curtain down on his illustrious career when Bayern Munich take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the DFB Pokal final on Satuday and could do so by claiming the 14th trophy of his managerial career.

As a player, Heynckes won it all, from four Bundesligas, a German Cup and a UEFA Cup with Borussia Monchengladbach, to a European Championship (1972, Belgium) and a World Cup (1974, West Germany) with 'Die Mannschaft'.

Now, at the age of 73, it is fair to say that he carried that success into his managerial career and then some. Two Champions League successes with Bayern Munich and another with Real Madrid stand out above all else on his CV, though his four Bundesliga crowns with the Bavarians spread over some 30 years and back-to-back Intertoto Cup successes with Schalke in the early 2000s are not to be sniffed at either.

"FC Bayern should not ask again when I'm 80, that was definitively it for me," Heynckes said ahead of Satuday's Cup final clash against Niko Kovac's Franfurt, with the Croatian the man who will succeed the experienced German at the end of the campaign.

"I will not have withdrawal symptoms and no boredom, I have a lot of hobbies."

This appears to be the final act in the career of a mythical manager and it will be interesting to see if he can crown it with one final triumph.
