A long way to go for Bale, Benzema and Hazard

The trio that is made up of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Eden Hazard starred at PSG, although not with the best of results. We cannot say that the three men upfront were the cause of the debacle in Paris, but it is clear that this formation needs a lot of time to work properly.

Zidane suffered his worst defeat in the Champions League in the French capital. The 3-0 loss was hard, because Real Madrid showed virtually no fight. There was nothing exciting in defence, in midfield or upfront.

It was a highly anticipated match for everyone. The three attacking giants finally coincided, but the reality is that they did not gel well together left the worst offensive record of Madrid in the last decade: not a shot at goal was had (the two goals that were scored were both disallowed).

Gareth Bale was the one who tried the most, but he was unable to play well with Karim and reach the goal through individual plays. Benzema, in a state of grace in the League, was quite alone and Hazard, newly recovered from his injury, was active, but more in the area of creation than three forwards working together.

Without any connection and against a growing and solid PSG, 'BBH' experienced a start which they will want to forget. However, it is not a surprise that the trio will have a hard time trying to gel and work together.

Karim still has a bit of last year's magic in him, after his hunger for goals awoke without Cristiano Ronaldo, but Hazard has only been in Madrid for three months. As for Bale, it must be remembered that the Welshman did not play the entire preseason for his possible departure in the summer.

After the Champions League opener in Paris, there is doubt about whether Sánchez-Pizjuán will see his first appearance of the 'bbh' in La Liga. It is clear that for the trio to work well together, they must play games, but given the problems in midfield, Zidane thinks of a change in tactical plans that could bring the return of 4-4-2.
