Karim Benzema seems to be making the headlines for all the wrong reasons recently. Nadine Morano, ex French minister during Sarkozy’s time in government, has accused the Real Madrid forward of spitting straight after the French national anthem La Marseillaise.

She considers this a massive disregard and lack of respect towards the victims of the attacks.

As if that weren’t enough, Morano thinks that Benzema should be dropped from los blancos because of what he did. She has caused even more controversy surrounding the player by issuing this statement, and fueled French media even further.

"The behaviour of Benzema should be heavily sancioned, he shouldn't be allowed to wear Real Madrid's shirt again. Don't come to us to justify the unjustifable," the message read on French politicians social media.
