In the post-match interview, Nacho Fernandez said that Real Madrid has to improve 'defensive-wise' and blames himself for having a bad game, and Espanyol's second goal.

Nacho was realistic and critical of his team after losing against Espanyol in the RCDE Stadium. The Spanish center-back spoke for 'Movistar+' and was harsh on himself and the team when analyzing the game.

"We have just started the season, we have a great squad. We need to improve defensive-wise", said Nacho, who also made himself responsible for Espanyol's second goal.

"A bad anticipation from me was Espanyol's second goal", claimed the Spaniard right before claiming that: "They caught our backs many times during the game".

Another key element to Madrid's defeat was their shot accuracy: "During the first half we had the better chances, but we missed them".

Real Madrid have been held to a goalless draw against Villarreal and lost to Sheriff and Espanyol in the past week and Nacho described the team's performances in the last three games as 'bad' the.
