Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay were two specific requests by Ronald Koeman. The coach left and Xavi took over. The Catalan, like the Dutchman, quickly saw the talent of the two Dutchmen.
The Barcelona coach has repeated constantly that both De Jong and Depay for the 2022-23 season. But the club will be the ones to decide... and if an attractive offer comes along, the situation means the club have to listen to offers carefully.
'AS' reports that Barcelona have put a price on De Jong and Depay. They will listen to offer from 80 million euros for the former and from 30 million euros for the latter.
Man Utd have been linked as a possible destination for De Jong, but the footballer has reportedly ruled that out. His priority is to remain at the Camp Nou and he will not go to a side which is not in the Champions League.
Once the season is over, Barca are planning to sit down with Depay to talk about his renewal. His contract expires in 2023 and the club want him to sign a new one to prevent him leaving for free in a year's time. That does not mean that his place in next season's squad is assured: if the right offer comes along, the club's would seriously considering selling him. According to 'AS', this would be if the offer is for at least 30 million.
