The match between Levante and Getafe on the final day of the La Liga season saw 10 minutes added on, Despite this happening sometimes due to a serious injury, this was all due to VAR checks plus the drinks break.

VAR checks can last a long time and nowadays there is more added time than before. However, very few times have we seen double figures for first half injury time all caused by VAR. That is what happened in the first half of the Levante versus Getafe.

As well as the drinks break, VAR was called into action three times. The first was to confirm that the linesman had made the right decision when he disallowed Mata's goal from Cucurella's cross. After drawing lines in the VAR hub, they saw that he was offside.

Then, Getafe thought they were in front when Angel Rodriguez scored just before the half hour. However, after a lengthy check, the referee took away the goal after the VAR detected an offside earlier in the move.

The third one was just before half-time. Levante thought they had scored, but after a delay of over five minutes, the VAR said that Roger was offside from Sergio Leon's pass. All those lengthy reviews meant there were 10 added minutes.
