Since Florentino Perez became President, many players have left Real Madrid for various reasons. We will look at 10 players which the 'Los Blancos' President has let slip away.

Iker Casillas

Formed in the inferior ranks of Real Madrid, he was called upon for the first time aged 16 for a Champions League game in 1997. He was in the Real Madrid team until he left in the summer of 2015 for Porto.

Khedira

The German central-midfielder arrived at Real Madrid for 12 million euros in the summer of 2010, from Stuttgart. His contract expired in the summer of 2015 and he didn't renew it.

Albiol

He arrived at the Bernabeu in June of 2009 for 15 million euros. In the summer of 2013, he left for Napoli for 12.

Coentrao

The Portuguese arrived in Madrid in 2011 for 30 million euros for 6 seasons. In 2015, after a season filled with injuries and a lack of starts, he moved to Monaco.

Xabi Alonso

Real Madrid paid around 30 million for Xabi Alonso in 2009. In the summer of 2014 he left for Bayern, rather surprisingly, for 10 million euros.

Kaká

The Brazilian star arrived at the Bernabeu in 2009 for 65 million euros. He has been one of the worst dealings of Real Madrid, seeing that in 2013, he left for Milan for free.

Özil

In August of 2010, Real Madrid signed the central midfielder for 15 million euros and for 5 seasons. In 2013, the German went to Arsenal leaving around 50 million in the Madrid safe.

Di María

Los Blancos signed the Argentinian for 25 million, with a further 11 in terms of add-ons, in 2010. In 2014, Di Maria went to Manchester United on a deal for 5 years and for 75 million euros with an extra 15 worth of add-ons.

Robben

In August of 2007, Real Madrid gained the services of Robben for 5 seasons, paying Chelsea 36 million euros. Two years later, Madrid decided to sell him to Bayern. Valdano later explained that the player asked to go, as he wanted to play more with the World Cup around the corner the year after.

Higuaín

The Argentinian striker arrived at the Bernabeu in the winter of 2006 for six and a half years and for 12 million euros. In July of 2013, 'El Pipita' wanted to leave Real Madrid and signed for Napoli who paid 40 million for him.
