Neymar cost PSG 489 million!

An important discovery was brought to light this Sunday by the Spanish newspaper 'El Mundo'. According to the Spanish media outlet, Neymar's signing for Paris Saint-Germain in 2019 finally cost 489 million euros.

On August 3rd, 2017, Neymar and PSG signed what is the second most lucrative contract in the world behind Leo Messi's with Barcelona.

The gross annual salary, the source indicated, was €43,334,000 for five seasons, with an option for a sixth for €50,556,117, with the increase as a loyalty bonus. 

Thus, the sum of the salary during his entire contract together with the 222 million euros paid by Paris Saint-Germain to Barcelona, the renewal clause, makes the 489 million euros that Neymar cost.

'El Mundo' was able to access the contract signed by the Brazilian in 2017. At that time, Neymar was paid more than double what Cristiano Ronaldo was paid at Real Madrid, the media outlet said.

The report also discusses the new contract Neymar has signed until 2025. In it, the conditions Neymar has signed with PSG are similar to those signed in 2017.
