The Spanish Football Federation announced in an official statement that the additional Segunda B promotion playoff matches are suspended because of three positive coronavirus cases at CD Marino. The matches were Villaviciosa-Alcoyano and Marino-Linares Deportivo.
Promotion to Segunda B, the third tier of Spanish football is huge for clubs. The play-off game between Marino and Tamaraceite was played with fans and without social distancing being observed.
The Spanish FA, with the backing of LaLiga, will ask IFAB for clubs to be allowed five substitutes per game in all La Liga, Segunda and amateur leagues.
The Federation met with the CSD on Tuesday and passed on to them their proposal to end non-professional leagues, but maintaining a system of promotion, so the season wouldn't be made null and void or vacated. There wouldn't be relegations and next season the competition will be restructured accordingly.
