Zwayer to referee PSG v Arsenal

German referee Felix Zwayer will referee the second leg of the Champions League semi-final between PSG and Arsenal at the Parc des Princes in Paris on Wednesday (21.00 CET), with his compatriot Bastian Dankert on VAR, UEFA confirmed.
The Berlin referee, who has not played in the Champions League this season for either the Parisian or London club, is 43 years old, has been an international since 2012 and is among those selected by FIFA for this year's Club World Cup.
His last Champions League match was Benfica-Barcelona (0-1), in the first leg of the round of 16, and before that Atalanta-Brujas (1-3), in the second leg of the round of 16. He previously refereed the group stage matches Inter-Red Star (4-0), Milan-Brujas (3-1), Dinamo Zagreb-Celtic (0-0) and Liverpool-Lille (2-1).
He last met PSG, who won the first leg in London (0-1), in the group stage of the 2022-2023 season, when they thrashed Maccabi Haifa (7-2), and before that in the 2018-2019 campaign against Napoli (2-2), also in the opening round.
He refereed Arsenal in September 2023 when they beat PSV 4-0 in the group stage. Zwayer's refereeing team will be completed by fellow Germans Robert Kempter and Christian Dietz as assistants, with Harm Osmers as fourth official and Benjamin Brand as VAR assistant.
