Zlatan on fire post COVID-19 stoppage

His brace against Inter Milan in the Milan derby showed he is the indisputable leader of an AC Milan side who are unbeaten post COVID-19. Since 1st July, the Rossoneri have won 10 games - one of them in the Europa League qualifying phase - and three draws in the 13 matches which Ibrahimovic has played. Zlatan is largely responsible for that with 12 goals and 4 assists and most of them have been decisive. 

Despite missing two of the first four Serie A matchdays, Ibrahimovic has become the top scorer in Serie A thanks to goals against Bologna (2-0) and Inter (1-2). A milestone shared with Lukaku, Papu Gomez and Belotti, although the veteran striker leads the way because he has made less appearances. He had not bagged a brace at the San Siro for eight years. His club had not won 'away' to their big rivals since 2010. On that occasion, they won 0-1. The Swede, then 29, was also the hero that day. 

Although there are doubts over whether Zlatan can keep this goalscoring form to continue this term, nobody will be able to take away from him the fact he has scored at least one goal as a professional in 23 different seasons. He has played at clubs such as Malmo, Ajax, Juventus, Barcelona, PSG, Man Utd and Inter Milan. 

After scoring goals non stop for four straight seasons, only Zlatan Ibrahimovic knows when it will be the time to hang up his boots. Until then, and with the blessing of Stefano Pioli, he has earning the right to keep on performing at the highest level. "Milan never had a king, they have a God", Zlatan said after the derby.
