The 'Citizens' moved top of the Premier League on Saturday after goals from Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling, while the Ukrainian was also professional and assured in his performance, taking up the left-back role that he has morphed into since the start of last season - despite being an attacking midfielder by trade.
Zinchenko was awarded a starting role after showing his quality in midweek against Oxford United in the Carabao Cup, and says his improvement as a player is down to Guardiola's managerial prowess.
Speaking after the game, the 21-year-old said: “He is the number one coach in the world and he wants to see the best of us.
“For us, it was important to get three points. We had a lot of chances to score but Brighton are a good team defensively and have quality players in front.”
He also looked ahead to Tuesday's Champions League game with Hoffenheim, saying: “Of course, the Champions League is important to us so we hope to get the three points."
