Before talking to Marcos individually, what I said a month ago when I was asked about him is that I've always loved him as a player but he needs to play. After two years here, he deserves to play," he said at a press conference.
Zidane tends to divert attention in direct questions about the future of players, as he did again in the same press conference when he was questioned about Gareth Bale's continuity, but with Llorente he seemed to make an exception.
"We know the players that are in Real Madrid, you have to be very sincere with the players, and I remember what Marcos did in his year in Alaves, played very well because he had continuity. He doesn't have it here because there are many important players", he confessed.
"Nobody can tell me that I haven't given him the chance to play, he has played less than others but that's life and we can't change it. Within a squad there are players who will always play less," he said.
