Hazard had to go to theatre on 5th March, days before the state of emergency was declared in Spain. The Belgian has not played since 22nd February, slightly longer than the rest of his teammates, but he will be able to return for the first match back.
The attacker has followed his recovery programme religiously and he has been working hard to get back as if he were returning for the Euros. The corona break and La Liga's return have not affected his plans. Real Madrid will fight for La Liga and the Champions League so both Real Madrid fans and Zidane are excited about his return.
Hazard returned to the sports city in great form. Last Thursday, Eden showed that he is raring to go by scoring a hat-trick in a training game. Hazard was even applauded by his teammates.
Real Madrid have now got their minds on the Eibar encounter on Sunday 14th June and Zidane has got a decision to make. It is whether to start Hazard or not.
Before returning to training, the Frenchman's plan was to gradually ease Hazard back into the team so that he does not suffer a relapse of his injury. However, his recent performances in training have made him think again. Zidane has two options on the table: start him or bring him on in the second half.
The footballer wants to start from the first minute so the ball is in 'Zizou's court. Hazard has noted progress one month after saying that he needed "more physical work and more ball" to recover.
And another major reason will be that he wants to finish his injury hit season on a high. He has made just 15 appearances so far, 14 of them of starts, and scored one goal. He has also given two assists. Hazard is very keen to show what he is capable of once football resumes.
In the last few hours, Roberto Martinez talked about Hazard on 'BeINSports'. "Eden will be one of the best and he will get back to his best. If he returns to the level he was at when he got injured against PSG, he will be one of the best for Real Madrid. He is in the best moment of his career and I'm sure he'll triumph at Real Madrid. He's the best player Madrid can build a project on."
