Zidane's big flaw after 100 games at Madrid

Since Zidane's arrival at the dugout of the Santiago Bernabeu, Los Blancos have conceded 101 goals. A ratio of just over one per game, which seems to have worsened at the start of this season, where Madrid have suffered more than they usually do defensively.

The more optimistic Madrid fans will focus on the seven trophies he has won or the numerous records broken (40 games unbeaten, 13 consecutive away wins), but it can't be denied that Madrid have a defensive problem.

Zidane needs to resolve the situation so that his side can regain the confidence which, at times this season, it looks like they have lost. Against Getafe, for example, they only managed to secure the three points in the final minutes, after the home side had equalised without ever threatening the Madrid goal that much.

So far this season, Madrid have conceded in ten out of their 14 games in all competitions. Their only clean sheets have come in the Spanish Super Cup second leg against Barcelona, the first and seventh games in La Liga, and in their first Champions League match, against APOEL.

Zidane will be hoping to work on the one blip to an otherwise formidable start to his managerial career.
