Zidane's ability to spot young talent

Zidane was one of the best players in the history of football. His intelligence was shown on the pitch and he is no showing it in the dugout, especially when it comes to signing youngsters.

The Real Madrid manager was the main man who called for Raphael Varane to join the club. When the defender was just 18, Zidane recommended him to Florentino Perez, 'AS' reports. At that moment in time, the ex-player was an advisor to the president. Days later, the central defender joined the club for 10 million euros.

Since his arrival, Varane has taken steps forward to consolidate himself as Sergio Ramos' partner in the centre of defence. Nobody has take his place away from him.

Eden Hazard is also at 'Los Blancos'. Despite the fact the Belgian only arrived just summer for an astronomical amount, the truth is that Zidane recommended him when he was just 19 and still had not moved to London.

Hazard became a great player at Chelsea, who he joined in 2012. Seven years later, Real Madrid finally got their man.

One of Real Madrid's biggest targets now is Kylian Mbappe. The young French striker, one of the greatest footballers currently, could have joined Real in 2012.

At just 13, Mbappe went to Valdebebas. It was then when Zidane recommended his signing, but he was unable to convince the now PSG man. "I did not want to leave so early, I wanted to stay in my country," Mbappe admitted.

Zinedine Zidane's next big target is Eduardo Camavinga. The Rennes footballer, who is still not 18, is sought after by Europe's biggest clubs.

Real Madrid want to make use of the fact Zidane is French to persuade the player who got French nationality last November. Camavinga, at just 17, has become the star player for his club.
