Zidane leaves Bale and James out again

Zinedine Zidane gave this Wednesday his 20 man squad to face Red Bull Salzburg. Neither Gareth Bale nor James Rodriguez are in the list for the pre-season game.

Real Madrid will play this Wednesday in Austria against Red Bull Salzburg. Real Madrid are travelling to the match the same day so Zidane preferred to wait to give the list of players in the squad.

The question was whether the French coach would call up Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez again. Once Real Madrid confirmed the 20 man squad, all doubt over the duo's future was cleared

None of the two will be in the friendly in Austria. Gareth Bale is looking for a departure from Real Madrid. After the Chinese option fell through and his chances of going to the Premier League are diminishing, Bayern Munich are the team who are entering the fray.

James Rodriguez is in the same situation. Although there was talk of him being able to stay at Real Madrid, the truth is that his relationship with Zidane and the possible arrival of men like Van de Beek, Pogba and Fabinho mean that he will the club.

Takefusa Kub and Rodrygo Goes are not in the 20 man squad either. Both players could make their debuts, also this Wednesday, for Raul's Real Madrid B.

Another of the notable absences is Mariano Diaz. The striker does not have a place in the Real Madrid side and as Jovic has recovered, Zidane has decided to leave him out of the Salzburg match.

The full squad is the following: Keylor Navas, Courtois, Lunin; Carvajal, Militao, Ramos, Varane, Nacho, Marcelo, Odriozola, De la Fuente; Kroos, Casemiro, Valverde, Isco; Benzema, Lucas Vázquez, Jovic, Vinicius and Hazard.
