It is clear for Zidane. When the time comes to pick his team, Casemiro has to be in it. The Brazilian, who was as heavily criticised two years ago as he is being praised now, has become indispensible to Real Madrid and the way in which they set up their team.
At least, this is what the stats say. According to them, Casemiro has played the most minutes for 'Los Blancos' out of anyone this season, currently standing at 2,413 minutes of play.
Nacho is not far behind. The defender is having a great season despite the ups and downs that Real have had this season. The academy product has played 2,350 minutes this season. Toni Kroos, next on the list, doesn't make it past 2,300 minutes - his play time is 2,298.
Normally a goalkeeper would top these charts but Keylor Navas' injury problems have preventing him from doing so, and as a result of rotation or suspensions, neither Marcelo (2,265) or Ronaldo (2,254) are as high as you would expect either.
