The ex-Barca player Xavi Hernandez and his wife, Nuria Cunillera, have donated a million euros to the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, the hospital announced this Saturday. They have appreciated Xavi's donation in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
The Hernandez family joined the campaign launched by the hospital with the hashtag #respuestacoronavirus (coronavirus response) to raise money in the fight against COVID-19. Lionel Messi joined the initiative back on 25th March.
"Nuria and I are giving our support in the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona's fight against the coronavirus. Thanks to the donations the hospital is receiving, they are getting equipment for professional and patients. Join #respuestacoronavirus, go on the website of the Hospital Clínic and make your contribution. With everybody's help, we will get through this," Xavi says in the video with his wife which has been uploaded onto the hospital's Twitter page this Saturday.
Xavi Hernandez is the current coach of Al Sadd of Qatar and in the last few months, he has been linked with a move to Barcelona. He told 'La Vanguardia' that he would like to coach there in the future and start a project at the Camp Nou from scratch.
