Manager: Aliou Cisse
Key Player: Sadio Mane - The Liverpool star goes into the tournament off the back of the best season of his career at club level and as his country's talisman. In a team full of talented forwards, Mane is the man that Cisse and the millions of Senegal fans back home will be looking at to provide the spark going forward for 'The Lions of Teranga'. Only one player in the Senegal squad has more international goals than the 26-year-old.
Qualifying:
Senegal cruised to qualification, winning four and drawing two of their six games in group D to top the group by five points over Burkina Faso.
Last time out:
2014 World Cup:
Senegal failed to qualify for the last iteration of the competition, losing 4-2 on aggregate to the Ivory Coast in the African qualifying play-offs after going unbeaten in Group J.
History:
Aliou Cisse's side have only qualified for one World Cup in their history, back in Korean and Japan in 2002. They stunned reigning Champions France in their first World Cup game, before draws with Denmark and Uruguay saw them into the last 16 as runners-up. A brace from Henri Camara, including a golden goal winner saw them come from behind to defeat Sweden to arrange a quarter-final date with Turkey, but that proved a step too far as they went down 1-0 after extra time.
Who will they face?
