Sitting a precarious four points clear of Mainz in the relegation playoff spot, Wolfsburg find themselves in the same woeful position as last year when they narrowly escaped the drop.
The side were founded in 1945 and, taking this into account, the ultras have vowed to boycott the first 19 minutes and 45 seconds of Saturday's game against the Bavarian giants, who sit with a very plush 18 point cushion at the top of the Bundesliga.
"We are aware of the difficult sporting situation and can understand the displeasure of the fans absolutely," Tim Schumacher, the club's chairman, said.
"The team has the potential to win the points they need for a reasonable end to the season. We are all committed to the task but we need the full support of our fans," he added, pleading for the supporters to get behind manager Martin Schmidt.
So far this season, Wolfsburg have drawn 12, lost six, and won just four of their 22 Bundesliga fixtures. Whilst Saturday's game against Bayern could be seen as an early write-off, Wolfsburg fans are desperate for their side to find some form before time runs out.
