"Without Messi, the star of LaLiga could be Benzema"

The 2021-22 season kicks off. For Alaves, the first opponent will be a tough one. They host Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid at home.

Lejeune predicted a tough match. He regretted that Sergio Ramos will not be in the opposing team.

"Ramos is a Madrid legend, what can I say, as a centre-back? It's a shame that such a player has gone... like Messi. With both of them at PSG, they're going to add to their trophy cabinet, which is already the envy of everyone," he told 'AS'.

The one who will be there is Benzema. "He's one of the best in his position, perhaps the star of LaLiga after Messi's departure. He's in an incredible moment. We'll have to do our best to make sure he doesn't have a good day," he said.

As for the role he will play at Alaves, he hopes to be important: "In my head is always to feel good, at ease. With Calleja things changed.
