When asked whether Fred can make an impact at Old Trafford, Willian replied: "Of course, no doubt about that. He has a lot of qualities.
"He can improve [them] a lot. He goes to one of the best teams in the world. I am happy for him. I hope he does well at Manchester United.
Willian added: "He is very happy to come to the Premier League to play. We talked a little bit about that.
"He is excited to start but now is the time to think about the World Cup. I think he is very happy but now it is time to think about the national team".
Brazil face Austria in their final warm-up game before this summer's tournament on Sunday.
