There's a signing on the horizon for Barcelona. In recent days the last few details of Wijnaldum's contract agreement have reached advanced stages, with the player looking to sign until June 2024. This Thursday, the player's representatives were seen in the Camp Nou offices, according to journalist Alex Pintanel of 'GOL'.
In this manner, the Catalan side will reportedly land the much sought-after midfielder on a free transfer, after the player didn't renew his contract with Liverpool which terminates at the end of June.
Barcelona expects to announce his arrival in the next few days, before the rush of the European Championships gets underway, given that Wijnaldum will represent Netherlands in the tournament.
What remains to be confirmed is whether Wijnaldum will play at Barcelona with compatriot Ronald Koeman at the helm, a man who was his boss for the national team previously. Joan Laporta will make a decision on the manager as soon as possible, with the player's future at the Catalan side certainly secured.
