When does the January transfer window open & close?

Europe's football teams are preparing for another busy winter of speculation, sales and signings as the January transfer windows open across the continent.
Several big sides have seen their names already whizzing around the rumour mill, with high-flying Chelsea said to be on the lookout for additions to aid in their impressive Premier League title push, both Manchester sides looking at defensive options and a catalogue of clubs in desperate need of a goalscorer.
And with big clubs come big names, perhaps the biggest of which doing the rounds at the moment being Real Madrid's James Rodriguez after the Colombian's assertion that he needs more playing time. Moves for much talked about France pair Antoine Griezmann and Dimitri Payet seem unlikely in January but they remain topics of discussion all the same.
It is also worth noting that China's window opens on the same day as the Premier League, as it seems unlikely that Oscar will be the last to be enticed by the vast wealth on offer in the Chinese Super League.
