"It's a great honour to wake up every day and know that you are a Real Madrid player, which is the best club in the world. We are a family and we do everything possible to win trophies" he insisted ahead of the European Supercup against Atletico Madrid.
Despite the test against Diego Simeone's men being the centre of attention at the moment, Marcelo also spoke about Juventus. The player's comments seemed to be a message to his former team-mate, Ronaldo, who is thought to want Marcelo to follow him in quitting Madrid in favour of Juventus.
"I'm not going to comment on that. We're in a final and we have to talk about that" Marcelo replied when asked about the possibility of moving to Turin.
"We've won a lot of trophies and the key is to keep working, giving everything in every single training session" the left-back said.
With regards to the game itself, he warned that "Atletico have improved a lot since the Champions League finals in Lisbon and Milan. But so have we".
He also thinks this will be a great occasion in Tallin, saying that "These matches are always battles, played out at the highest level. Anything can happen in a final, we'll have to wait and see. I think it will be a really good game."
