West Ham stands with Yarmolenko and Ukraine

Andryi Yarmolenko is experiencing the most challenging period of his life. The West Ham player is Ukrainian and his country is being invaded by neighbours Russia.

West Ham wanted to stand in solidarity with their player in a number of ways. The screens inside and out of the London Stadium displayed messages of support to Yarmolenko. "Sending love and prayers to Andryi Yarmolenko and the people of Ukraine.", was written.

Moreover, just before the match kicked off, while 'I'm forever blowing bubbles' rang around the stadium, Declan Rice held up Yarmolenko's shirt as the camera panned across him.

Everyone in the footballing world is standing with all the Ukrainian footballers as well as the rest of its society in solidarity against the Russians.
