The Hammers are acting quickly in their search of a replacement for Slaven Bilic, who was sacked as West Ham boss on Monday.
According to 'Sky Sports', Moyes will sign a six-month contract at the London Stadium, with the club currently languishing in the relegation zone in the Premier League after a poor start to the season.
His first match in charge will be against Watford at Vicarage Road on Sunday after the international break.
Before Bilic's dismissal, Moyes publically expressed an interset in the West Ham job whilst he was working as a pundit in Doha.
The former Manchester United and Everton boss told 'beIN Sports': "I've always said I want to go back into club management and if the right opportunity comes around, then I'll be interested.
"I've been there myself, I know what Slaven is going through at the moment. He must be hating it and wanting to get a result as quickly as he can. If it becomes available yes, but at the moment it's not available."
West Ham have only won two of their opening 11 Premier League games and were beaten 4-1 at home to Liverpool on Saturday.
Moyes will face a tough run of fictures in the lead up to Christmas, including matches against Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.
