Despite Valencia's insistence on signing the striker, it seems Maxi Goméz may end up in the Premier League with West Ham United. According to 'Sky Sports', the London based side have made a huge offer that could prove to good for Celta to turn down.
Reports yesterday seemed to suggest that the Uruguayan had said no to a move to West Ham as he wanted to join Valencia, but the English side aren't giving up in their pursuit of the Uruguay international and have made a new and improved offer.
According to the English press, West Ham have tabled a 50 million Euro bid for the Celta Vigo attacker, who scored 13 La Liga goals last season.
Valencia will now have to match this sizeable offer if they want to strengthen their squad with Gómez's signature, although it seemed just last week that they had already agreed a deal with their fellow La Liga side. This, was, however, before West Ham stepped in to meet the player's buyout clause in a deal that would see the 22 year-old become the most expensive signing in the club's history.
