Borja Iglesias has been one of the standout strikers in Spain in recent years, scoring 77 goals in 125 games over the past three seasons and making himself a target for many clubs in the transfer market.
His market value stands at 17 million Euros, but Espanyol want any suitors to pay his release clause - something that Betis seem to be having problems with doing.
Now, according to 'Mundo Deportivo', West Ham have entered the fray and have the 27 million Euros necessary to complete the deal. If the Premier League side hurry, they may be able hijack any potential deal with Betis.
Betis' vice president Carlos García Pont summed up the situation recently by saying that he "could come to Betis in 48 hours or 15 days". If the latter is the case, West Ham would become favourites to steal in and complete a deal for the man known as 'The Panda'.
