West Ham eye Loftus-Cheek loan
Loftus-Cheek has yet to start a Premier League game for Chelsea so far this season as the likes of N'Golo Kante, Jorginho, Ross Barkley, Mateo Kovacic, Cesc Fabregas and Danny Drinkwater all compete for a place in the Blues' midfield.
That lack of action has seen the powerful midfielder's career stall somewhat after a breakthrough season on loan at Crystal Palace last season saw him break into the England squad.
Nevertheless, there have still been glimpses of his undoubted ability, namely as he scored a Europa League hat-trick against BATE Borisov last time out.
According to the 'Daily Mirror', West Ham are keen to offer him a January escape route from Stamford Bridge in the form of a loan until the end of the season, though it remains to be seen whether that would be of interest to Chelsea, with Sarri having previously stated his development is best served at Stamford Bridge.
"Ruben in October played four matches out of five. At the moment the situation is not for a loan of course," he explained ahead of the win over Crystal Palace.
"He has improved but needs to improve more from the tactical point of view.
"Physically, he has great characteristics: he is fast, solid, great impact, technically he is very good but if he wants to play as a midfielder he needs to improve in the defensive phase. The potential is great."
