The 22-year-old finished last season on loan in Italy with Hellas Verona, having failed to break into the Newcastle first team. Aarons made 11 appearances during his time in Italy, failing to find the net.
An England U20 international, Aarons was tipped for big things when he left Bristol City for Newcastle back in 2012.
Born in Kingston, Aarons' Jamaican heritage and his quick and direct style of wingplay led to comparisons with Raheem Sterling.
However, his development has ground to a halt at St James' Park and he is expected to be allowed to depart this summer, despite still having three years to run on his contract.
Darren Moore's West Brom have been quick to register their interest, with winger James McClean likely to make the move to Championship rivals Stoke City and Matt Phillips heavily linked with Middlesbrough.
