This is not Timo Werner's dream season. His arrival at Chelsea as one of Europe's most promising strikers was a real bombshell in the transfer market. However, so far he has not found his best form under Lampard.
As well as going various matches without scoring, the German left the anecdote of the matchday on Sunday. It happened in the Chelsea v Manchester City match on matchday 17 of the Premier League.
In the final moments of the match, the striker went to take a corner in favour of his team. When he was about to play it short to his teammate Mount, Werner had the misfortune to kick the corner flag. This action left him limping and showing signs of pain from the blow.
In the end, the corner was given as invalid and the Blues had to hit it again, but this time Mount was tasked with it. This was only one more nonsense of a Chelsea that was overwhelmed by a great City, which won 3-1 at Stamford Bridge, in a match where the German failed to score again.
