22 years is a long time coming. Even to start disliking the club you've spent your whole life at a bit. That is what happened to Arsène Wenger, who left Arsenal badly after more than two decades and assured that he wouldn't return to the club. Something that he doesn't regret.
"I'm very concerned about the club and I watch all the games. There's a culture in the way football is played at Arsenal and I hope Mikel Arteta can bring that back," said the manager, who in the 'Mirror' stood by his words from a couple of years ago: "I always told myself I'd leave Arsenal completely. That was the decision I made".
The English source recalled that Wenger ended badly with some board members, who blamed him for the team's downturn. The fans also let him know how fed up they were due to the way he managed the team in the last few years.
Now the Frenchman, who works for FIFA, insisted again that he wouldn't even return as a fan to an Arsenal match. He prefers to follow them from home, where the affection for Arsenal remains intact.
