Wenger has been out of contract since leaving Arsenal at the end of last season, but he has stated recently that he is planning on a return to the game in the new year.
Now, according to the French press, it looks as if that role will be in Italy at one of the big Milan clubs. AC Milan have won the Champions League seven times, second only to Real Madrid, but they have been far from their best in recent years.
Wenger would replace Gennaro Gattuso, who has failed to get the best out of his team in recent weeks. Milan currently sit fourth in Serie A, behind Napoli, rivals Inter and Juventus.
It is understood that Wenger would work closely with the sporting director, Leonardo, in a similar capacity to the role he had at Arsenal.
