"We have been coming up with ideas for years and we now need to show them on the pitch. We have been very irregular, like almost everyone else... The team that is stable and keeps their concentration is the one who competes the best," the coach analysed.
The coach made it clear that the team will fight to get back to their best. "There are good and bad passages... We need to work on concentration and regularity. This will be shown on the field and not with words," he declared.
Simeone gave what could be the key to the mood drop. "We need to convince ourselves of what we can do and from there look for regularity," he said.
Simeone doesn't that their team lacks motivation. "They always have it and they also have respect for the club they play against, but sometimes they wake up worse or better... That, in the emotional state, is where the coach has to come in," he said.
The Argentine understands that, despite the irregularity at the moment, they are on the right track to achieve great things: "We look for what we understand we can generate to make the most of it. We won't change. Based on what the team needs and the situations you see, as a result of the game we have to play, we will build the team"
Simeone prefers not to speak about the battle with Madrid and Barca, he is only focused on Espanyol. "We are still thinking about one game at a time, facing a rival with a new coach, Machin, who have important motivation. It'll generate a complex match like the ones we're seeing in La Liga. We'll try to keep improving, we don't have any more thought than Espanyol," he made it clear.
Finally, he highlighted the casualties of Savic, Giménez and Joao Félix, which are taking their toll. "They're three important players and we can't count on them. They have been out for six or seven games. When we're all there, we'll have more internal competition that will make us improve our game," he concluded.
